Thee Yezen Al-Obaide
Thee Yezen Al-Obaide (f. 1983) er født og oppvokst i Irak. Han flyttet til Kristiansand, Norge, da han var 17 år sammen med sin familie. Han er journalist og aktivist, og jobbet som oversetter på Pål Refsdals film Dugma - The Button.
The Future of Iraq er hans regidebut, regissert i samarbeid med Mats Muri.
Thee Yezen Al-Obaide (b. 1983) was born and raised in Iraq, and came to Kristiansand, Norway, at 17 with his family. He is a journalist and activist, and worked as a translator on Pål Refsdal’s film Dugma – The Button.
The Future of Iraq is his directorial debut, which he directed in collaboration with Mats Muri.

Ett av seks barn bor i dag i en krigssone. Dette er et møte med tre av dem, hvor de beskriver sine opplevelser av krig og det daglige liv. Filmen er satt i Irak, men kunne vært satt hvor som helst i verden.
One of six children today live in a war zone. This is a meeting with three of them, where they in simple terms describe their experiences of war and daily life. The film is set in Iraq, but could be set anywhere in the world.
